Application:

Speed Sensor T413742 is a crankshaft speed and position probe engineered for the Perkins 400 Series engines—403C-15, 403D-15, 403D-15T, 404D-22 and 404D-22TA turbo-charged diesels (2.2 L to 4.4 L). These compact power units are widely used in Massey Ferguson 1700/1800/2400/3400 orchard and utility tractors, mini-excavators, skid-steer loaders, 30–120 kVA generator sets, forklift trucks, irrigation pumps and light construction equipment operating in agricultural, landscaping and material-handling markets worldwide.

Technical specifications:

Thread interface M12 × 1.5 with 19 mm hex and 30 mm probe reach for direct mounting into the flywheel housing or timing-gear cover. Output signal is digital Hall-effect, 3-wire, 8–32 Vdc supply, 0–8 kHz frequency range corresponding to 0–4 000 r/min crankshaft speed, with built-in reverse-polarity and load-dump protection to +40 Vdc. Connector is a sealed Deutsch DT04-3P, IP68 rated against dust and moisture, overall sensor length 60 mm, weight 75 g.

Material & performance features:

Probe body is precision-machined from 1.4305 (AISI 303) stainless steel for superior resistance to engine oil, coolant splash and road salt; the sensing tip is over-moulded in high-temperature PPS polymer rated to 150 °C and houses a rare-earth magnet for stable signal amplitude across the full temperature envelope. Internal electronics are fully encapsulated in high-temperature epoxy, vibration-tested 50 g at 20–2 000 Hz, thermal-shock-tested 1 000 cycles –40 °C ↔ +150 °C, salt-spray-tested 96 h per ASTM B117, EMI-suppressed circuitry compliant with SAE J1113-42 for reliable ECU timing and diagnosis, MTBF > 500 000 engine hours.
